Hello and welcome to the High Point Elementary 2009-2010 school year!  We are sure that everyone has had a wonderful and relaxing summer.  There are just a few things this year's PTA board would like you to give some thought to.

We STRONGLY encourage you to mark your calendars with the following PTA meeting dates.  All meetings this year will be held in the school library at 7:00 pm.  We promise to keep the meetings to a one hour max!  PTA meetings are a great way to voice ideas, opinions and to keep "in the know" regarding High Point operations.

School supply sale pick-up dates are:
   Thursday, August 20th      9:00 am - 11:00 am & 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
   Friday, August 21st            9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Package pick-ups are for those who ordered only, there will be no additional packages available to purchase.  Arrangements can be made for those out of town this week by contacting Stacy Kirkendall at MSKirken@insight.rr.com

High Point Brownie Girl Scout Troop 1913 recently cleaned up and mulched the Reading Garden and Front Sign. The girls (and their parents!) worked so hard, and are very proud of helping their school. They are also growing flowers from seed, which will be added to the Reading Garden after the danger of frost has passed. 2009-2010 School Supply Kits - by Staples Schoolkidz
Grade level packages will be available for order at the beginning of May 2009. There will be a 2-3 week window for either on-line or paper orders to be made for the next school year. Package lists by grade and prices will be posted shortly however, range from $20-45. As always, all items on the list will be included in the package with the following exceptions:

3rd Grade Reader - which can be purchased at Meet the Teacher Night, at the below Pick Up times or from the 3rd Grade Teachers
Book Bags
Art Smocks

Package pick ups (for those who order only) are scheduled for:
Thursday, 8/20/09 9-11am or 3-7pm and Friday, 8/21/09 3-7 pm.
(Arrangements can be made for those out of town this week)
Orders may be placed on-line beginning 4/16/09-5/20/09. No orders will be accepted after 5/20/09.

The Publishing Center could use a few more folks to work every-other-week shifts of an hour and a half. You'll be making the book covers and helping the children "publish" their books that they have so proudly created.    We have Tues morning, Wed morning, Thursday afternoon shifts available.   Please contact Linda Mustric if you can help.
